BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania and Lesotho from Jan. 7 to 12, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said Wednesday.
Wang Yi, also a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, will attend the opening ceremony of the China-Africa Year of People's Exchanges at the headquarters of the African Union, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
He added that this will be the 36th consecutive year that Africa will be the destination for the Chinese foreign minister's first overseas trip at the beginning of the year. -0-
