Ürümqi, January 6 (Xinhua) — By the end of 2025, the inbound and outbound passenger traffic through the Takeshken land border crossing on China's border with Mongolia exceeded 163,000. Specifically, the inbound and outbound passenger traffic through this border crossing accounted for 81,500 people each, the local border service reported.
It is noteworthy that in addition to travelers from China and Mongolia, over the course of 2025, more than 2,700 people from 43 countries and regions around the world, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Germany, and Denmark, were subject to border control at this checkpoint, which is 64 percent more than the previous year.
Takeshken is located in Qinghe County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR, northwest China), and is a key hub in the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor.
The local border service assured that it will continue to deepen reforms to simplify customs clearance procedures and optimize the intelligent inspection system to provide higher-quality and more efficient border control services, thereby creating more convenient conditions for trade and economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between China, Mongolia, and Russia. -0-
