Almaty, January 6 (Xinhua) — The Border Service of the National Security Committee (KNB) of Kazakhstan has held more than 52,000 border violators accountable in 2025, the Kazinform news agency reported on Tuesday, citing the KNB.

“17,541 cases of illegal movement of goods and cargo across the state border were prevented, including: 344 cases of narcotics (over 1.5 tons); 847 cases of weapons and ammunition; 315 cases of religious literature; 5,900 cases of fuel and lubricants; 8,083 cases of consumer goods; and 2,052 cases of currency,” the report says.

In addition, 607 cases of poaching in the Caspian Sea were stopped.

The total amount of damage prevented amounted to more than 75 billion tenge /over 146.7 million US dollars/. –0–
