Washington, January 5 (Xinhua) — Venezuela does not plan to hold new elections within the next 30 days, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday.

"We have to rebuild the country first. You won't be able to hold elections. People won't even have the opportunity to vote," the American leader said in an interview with NBC.

D. Trump said his administration could subsidize investment projects by US oil companies to restore Venezuela's energy infrastructure, adding that the process could take less than 18 months.

As a reminder, on Saturday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was forcibly removed from the country by the United States. –0–
