Beijing, January 6 (Xinhua) — The closing ceremony of the 37th International Ice Sculpture Competition took place on Sunday in Harbin, capital of northeastern China's Heilongjiang Province. Russian artists from Amursk, St. Petersburg, and Moscow emerged victorious.
According to information from the official website of the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government, the Russian participants demonstrated high skill and took all three prize places: the team from Amursk took first place, while the masters from St. Petersburg and Moscow took second and third.
The 37th International Ice Sculpture Competition, organized by the Harbin People's Government, kicked off on January 2, bringing together 76 artists from 38 teams representing 12 countries, including China, Russia, Kazakhstan, the United States, the Republic of Korea, and France. Over the course of three days, ice carvers took part in the competition at the Great World of Ice and Snow Park and in the square in front of the Harbin Convention and Exhibition Center, creating artistic works from blocks of ice.
