BEIJING, January 4 (Xinhua) — On Sunday, an international special train carrying 47 cars loaded with 1,300 tons of high-quality coal coke departed from Wuwei City in Northwest China's Gansu Province for Ablyk Railway Station in Uzbekistan. This is the first international special freight train to depart from Gansu Province in 2026.
The official website of the Zhongguo Xinwenshe News Agency reports that the total value of the coal coke carried by this special train is 4.06 million yuan (approximately $580,000). The train will leave China via the Horgos port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and head west. It is expected to arrive at Ablyk Station in Uzbekistan in approximately nine days.
Cao Ke, head of the Wuwei Duty-Free Logistics Center, said that in recent years, the center has continued to develop its international logistics network and opened six major logistics channels, including those connecting Central Asia and Central Europe. These channels span 22 countries, 46 cities, and regions, transforming geographical advantages into trade development benefits.
“The opening of this new route once again opens a stable and convenient international logistics channel for the effective entry of Made in Gansu products and even Chinese goods into the Central Asian market,” added Cao Ke. -0-
