Moscow, January 2 /Xinhua/ — Russian airlines have preliminarily transported 108.5 million passengers by the end of 2025, which is 2.5 percent lower than last year's level, RIA Novosti reports, citing Dmitry Yadrov, head of the Federal Air Transport Agency.
According to the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, domestic passenger traffic totaled 81.24 million. International flights carried over 27.4 million passengers.
According to him, Russian citizens' desire to travel is growing every year, and to this end, the government is implementing a huge number of programs to support the development of domestic Russian air travel, including three subsidy programs, allocating approximately 25 billion rubles annually.
By the end of 2024, Russian airlines carried 111.3 million people.
