Beijing, January 1 (Xinhua) — Taiwan Chief Executive Lai Qingde's New Year's speech, in which he once again peddled absurdities and misconceptions about "Taiwan independence" and incited cross-strait confrontation, was full of falsehoods and statements steeped in hostility and malice, State Council Taiwan Affairs Office Spokesperson Chen Binhua said Thursday.
