Reaching yet another milestone, the economy is expected to reach 140 trillion yuan. Not only are our country's record-breaking economic, technological, defense, and overall strength admirable, but also the beauty of the "emerald waters and green mountains," which undoubtedly makes our compatriots feel happier and safer. These years have been far from easy, and the successes have not been easy. Thanks to millions of tireless hands and warm hearts, China continues to develop rapidly. This year is also memorable for the solemn celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People's Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and the establishment of Taiwan Liberation Memorial Day. These glorious victories commemorate the fallen heroes, inspire the sons and daughters of China to remember history, honor the memory of their fallen heroes, preserve peace, and open up the future, uniting their majestic forces in the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
We have made innovation the driver of high-quality development. Science and technology are deeply integrated with industry. Innovative developments are springing up like mushrooms after rain. Serious competition has unfolded among artificial intelligence models. Independent chip development has achieved breakthrough development, and China has become one of the leaders in terms of the growth rate of its innovative potential. The Tianwen-2 probe has been launched into deep space. Construction has begun on a hydroelectric power station in the lower reaches of the Yarlung Tsangpo River. The first aircraft carrier equipped with an electromagnetic catapult has been commissioned. A Chinese humanoid robot has learned kung fu techniques. Drones have painted luminous patterns in the night sky. Innovation not only generates new levels of productive force but also enriches our lives, making them brighter and more interesting.
Our souls are nourished by the brilliant Chinese culture. Museum boom trends are gaining momentum, interest in intangible cultural heritage is growing, and the World Heritage list is expanding to include Chinese sites. Sun Wukong and Nezha are conquering nearly the entire world. Elements of traditional clothing have become leading fashion trends for young people. The cultural and tourism market is experiencing a real boom. City and village super leagues are enjoying widespread popularity. Winter sports spark incredible passion. The harmonious blend of tradition and modernity breathes new life and sparkle into centuries-old Chinese culture.
Together, we make life better and better. Having participated in the celebrations in Xizang and Xinjiang, I witnessed firsthand how peacefully and harmoniously people of different nationalities live, from the snowy plateau to the foothills of the Tianshan Mountains, and how united they are like pomegranate seeds. Presenting snow-white khadak, people express their love for their homeland and praise happiness through the most fervent songs and dances. There are no trivial matters in people's lives; every detail is important and close to our hearts. Thus, over the course of the year, the rights and interests of workers in new forms of employment have received additional protection. The modernization of old buildings creates amenities for the elderly. The monthly allowance for families with children has been increased by an additional 300 yuan. The comfort of simple everyday life, the changing seasons. When the life of every family is filled with happiness and prosperity, the brightest future awaits our homeland.
We embrace the entire world with open hearts. The Tianjin SCO Summit and the Global Women's Summit were successfully held. A special customs regime was launched for the Hainan Free Trade Port. This year, China announced a new Nationally Determined Contribution to address climate change. Following the "Three Global Initiatives," I launched the Global Governance Initiative, which aims to shape a more equitable and rational system of global governance. The modern world is experiencing turbulence and upheaval, and the flames of war still rage in some regions. China resolutely stands on the right side of history and is ready to join forces with all countries to ensure peace and development on the planet, in the name of building a community with a shared future for humanity.
I recently attended the opening of the National Sports Games and cannot help but admire the mutual support and coordinated development of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. We must firmly implement the "one country, two systems" policy and support the efforts of Hong Kong and Macao to integrate into the grand national development plan in the interests of maintaining their long-term prosperity and stability.
