On December 27, Ordos celebrated the opening of the 15th ice and snow tourism season and the 12th public winter season. This event will run until March 2026.
This winter season, four key areas were deeply integrated: culture, tourism, sports, and trade. Seventeen unique cultural and tourism programs were developed, grouped into seven thematic blocks that tie together winter sports, folk traditions, and culinary experiences.
In recent years, the city of Ordos has been actively promoting the deep integration of winter sports, tourism, and culture. Since the beginning of this winter, the city has scheduled 120 unique cultural and tourist events and a number of key competitions. In addition, 10 themed winter tourism routes and three routes dedicated to winter sports events have been developed, seamlessly integrating the entire service chain of accommodation, food, transportation, excursions, shopping, and entertainment. By transforming the "cold resources" of winter into a "hot impetus" for industry, this provides new impetus for high-quality economic and social development in the region.
This series of events is designed to meet the diverse needs of various population groups. Over the course of the events, the number of participants is expected to exceed 1.5 million, increasing consumer spending by over 30%. This will allow both city residents and tourists to enjoy a high-quality and exciting winter cultural and tourist festival.
