NANJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) — The People's Liberation Army's Eastern Zone Combat Command (PLA ECCC) is conducting live-fire military exercises in the waters and airspace north and southwest of Taiwan on Monday, the ECCC said.
Destroyers, frigates, fighter jets, bombers and drones were deployed in coordination with long-range fire strikes, the report said.
The exercises, which focus on identifying and engaging targets in maritime and airspace, as well as simulating strikes on land targets and live-fire exercises at sea, aim to test the capabilities of the troops to coordinate actions in a unified manner and seize a dominant position in the relevant space, the VZBK added. -0-
