QINGDAO, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) — The opening ceremony of the final round of the 2025 China-Russia Industrial Innovation Competition was held Thursday at the China-SCO Regional Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Zone (hereinafter referred to as the "China-SCO Demonstration Zone") in the coastal city of Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province.
The competition aims to create a high-level platform for scientific, technological and innovation activities between China and Russia and promote the deep integration of advanced research achievements in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) with regional industrial development.
On the same day, the finals of the special robotics and AI competition for young people began as part of the China-Russia Industrial Innovation Competition. More than 100 of the best innovative and entrepreneurial projects from China and Russia participated.
Zhang Xinzhu, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the China-SCO Demonstration Zone, expressed hope that the competition will be used as an opportunity to expand the application scenarios for the achievements of Chinese and Russian innovation, promote the deepening and concretization of cooperation between China and Russia and the SCO countries in science and technology, education, and industry, and jointly build an open and inclusive ecosystem of scientific, technological, and innovative cooperation based on the principles of coordination and sharing.
During the event, the China-SCO Demonstration Zone presented its advantages for attracting investment. Next-generation information technology, AI, and other emerging areas, the development of which the China-SCO Demonstration Zone places great emphasis, are precisely aligned with the competition program.
