BEIJING, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) — A total of 21,665 China-Europe trains passed through Ereenhot Port in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from 2013 to Dec. 22, 2025, carrying a total of over 25 million tonnes of cargo, according to a statement posted on the official website of the Ereenhot city government.

As a reminder, freight trains running on the China-Europe international rail freight transport routes began operating through the Erenhot checkpoint in 2013.

As reported, the above-mentioned indicators for the period from January 1 to December 22 of this year amounted to 3,890 units and 5.12 million tons, respectively, an increase of 17.6 and 23.3 percent year-on-year.

The Ereenhot Port is a key hub in the central corridor of international rail freight transport between China and Europe. Currently, 74 China-Europe rail routes pass through it, covering over 70 cities in more than 10 countries in Asia and Europe, as well as over 60 cities in 24 provincial-level administrative divisions in China.

At the same time, the range of goods transported by trains in this category is becoming increasingly diversified. Currently, it has grown to over 10,000 items, including vehicles powered by new energy sources, high-end mechanical equipment, and electronic products. -0-
