Specialists urban economy complex More than 2,400 apartment buildings were renovated in 2025. The work was carried out as part of the capital repairs program, reported the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Urban Development. Petr Biryukov.
"The Moscow Capital Repairs Program is one of the largest housing modernization projects not only in Russia but also in the world. It covers approximately 30,000 buildings with a total floor area of over 300 million square meters. Since 2015, more than 16,000 apartment buildings have been renovated, with over 2,400 completed this year alone," noted Pyotr Biryukov.
The program includes renovations to facades, utility systems, elevators, roofs, entrance halls, and entryways. A work plan for each building is developed taking into account the service life of various systems and their technical condition. During winter, specialists can repair electrical and gas systems, sewer systems, fire alarms, as well as basements, garbage chutes, and entrance halls. These works are not dependent on air temperature and do not affect heating operation. Renovation of facades and flat roofs will resume once temperatures return to above zero.
The head of the city's utilities department reminded that elevator operation is under special scrutiny. Specialists strictly monitor compliance with routine inspection and maintenance schedules, as this equipment is considered highly hazardous. Since 2018, elevators in buildings operated by the regional operator have been replaced strictly in the year their 25-year service life expires.
