BEIJING, December 24 (Xinhua) — The 57th meeting of the chairman and vice chairmen of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) of China was held on Wednesday. A number of reports were reviewed.
The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee Zhao Leji.
Senior legislators heard reports on the bill review process and proposals for draft amendments to several laws. They also reviewed reports on the powers of deputies and draft decisions on personnel matters.
At the meeting, it was decided to submit the above-mentioned drafts for consideration by the ongoing 19th session of the Standing Committee of the 14th NPC.
The meeting participants reviewed and fundamentally approved the main areas of work of the NPC Standing Committee and its work plan in the areas of lawmaking, oversight, parliamentary representation, and foreign affairs for 2026, and also discussed a report on the work of the NPC Standing Committee on maintaining contacts with NPC deputies in 2025. –0–
