Students from the Institute of Civil Engineering at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University have won and placed first in the first round of the federal youth design and art competition "Young Design 2025." The awards ceremony took place in the Rope Workshop of the National Research University Higher School of Economics. The event brought together over 150 representatives of educational institutions, industrial partners, and mentors and served as a key platform for presenting the results of the eleven competition tracks.

Participants were welcomed by Vladimir Knyagin, Vice Governor of St. Petersburg, and Anna Tyshetskaya, Director of the HSE St. Petersburg branch.

Following expert evaluation, students and postgraduates from the Higher School of Design and Architecture of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University's Institute of Civil Engineering demonstrated outstanding results, becoming winners and runners-up in five of the eleven categories.

The "Apple Code" nomination was organized jointly with the Frunzensky District Administration of St. Petersburg and aimed at developing a territorial branding concept for the Apple Orchard in Kupchino. Fourth-year student Anna Andreeva, also majoring in Information Design, won second place.

Anna Kozlova, a second-year master's student in the Communication Design program at the Higher School of Design and Architecture at the Institute of Contemporary Art, won first place in the Benois-Benois project school, which was implemented jointly with the Manege Central Exhibition Hall and dedicated to the creation of a souvenir collection for the exhibition All Benois – All Benois.

The "Warmth of Bread" project school, organized with the support of the Ural Chamber of Crafts and the St. Petersburg Foundation for the Support of Innovation and Youth Initiatives, focused on developing a design project for a historic bakery at the merchant G.E. Podvintsev Estate Museum in Nevyansk, Sverdlovsk Oblast. First-year master's students in the Architectural Environmental Design program at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ISI), Timur Baltayev and Alexandra Marishchuk, took third place.

"Youth Design" is a unique competition! We see real clients in this project. Polytechnic University has been participating in the competition for five years now, and I've had the opportunity to witness the project gaining popularity. New interesting partners are emerging, and regular clients are returning. "For students, this is a great opportunity to try their hand at working with real-life cases as part of the educational process, and most importantly, to see the fruits of their labor realized," noted Tatyana Diodorova, associate professor at the Higher School of Design and Architecture and mentor for the "Apple Code" and Benois-Benois project school categories.
