The Moscow Museum of Modern Art will host a personal mediation of Rostan Tavasiev's exhibition. The mediation will be led by the artist himself, allowing participants to learn firsthand about the exhibition's concept and the master's creative method.
Rostan Tavasiev will discuss a large series of paintings executed in his signature "begomotypisi" technique, the furry characters and heroes of his works, and their unexpected plastic and existential transformations. Particular attention will be paid to the combination of playful and philosophical approaches characteristic of the artist's practice, and his interest in the borderlands between art, science, and imagination.
The meeting will also discuss the large-scale research project "Art in Cosmic Space," which includes work with images of planetary nebulae, comets, and asteroids. Participants will learn how artistic expression extends beyond the exhibition hall and addresses the theme of the Universe as a space for art.
Participation in mediation is possible upon prior registration and an entrance ticket to the museum.
