St. Petersburg, December 22 /Xinhua/ — The share of national currencies in commercial transactions between member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) exceeds 96 percent, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced at an informal CIS summit on Monday.
"The share of national currencies in commercial transactions between CIS countries already exceeds 96 percent. Major industrial and infrastructure projects are being implemented with the participation of entrepreneurs from CIS countries," Vladimir Putin noted.
According to the Russian leader, new Eurasian production and transport chains are also being formed, and transcontinental North-South and East-West logistics corridors are being modernized and developed. "Furthermore, import substitution processes are proceeding rapidly, thereby strengthening the technological sovereignty of our states," Putin added.
