UN, December 18 /Xinhua/ — The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on December 23 to discuss the situation in Venezuela. This information was confirmed on Thursday by the Permanent Mission of Slovenia to the UN, which holds the presidency of the Security Council.

"In response to your questions, I can confirm that the presiding party intends to convene a meeting on Venezuela on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.," Slovenian Permanent Mission spokesperson Laura Miklič told Xinhua.

Slovenia assumed the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council for a period of one month in December.
