The annual Stork Wings award ceremony was held in Moscow for outstanding contributions to fostering orphans. The winners included foster parents with many children, raising teenagers, siblings, and children with special needs.
"Adopting a child into a family is more than just a decision. It's an act that requires not only boundless love and emotional strength, but also professional knowledge. Thanks to people willing to open their hearts to orphans, fewer than a thousand children live in family-based foster care centers today. Each such family doesn't just change the fate of one child—it's an investment in the future of society and proof that compassion and a willingness to help remain the most important values of our time. The city places great emphasis on training and supporting foster parents to whom we can entrust our children, and they are certainly worthy of public recognition. This year, three Moscow families received the statuette and a cash payment of one million rubles," said Tatyana Danko, Head of the Guardianship and Trusteeship Department.
