The city has approved a pilot project for integrated territorial development (ITD) for residential development in the southwest of the capital, Cheryomushki. "The city has approved a pilot residential development project on Garibaldi Street in Cheryomushki, which begins the process of further renewing the capital's residential real estate stock. The majority of residents of two five-story buildings located on a 1.09-hectare site voted to include their homes in the project. They will move into comfortable apartments in a modern new building in the same area. The old buildings will be demolished, and in their place will be built a residential complex with a landscaped courtyard, totaling approximately 47,000 square meters, to implement the renovation program. The apartment space will be approximately 28,700 square meters," said Vladimir Efimov.
The project is planned for completion within five years. The Moscow Renovation Fund will act as the operator of the residential development. The site is located at 17 Garibaldi Street, Buildings 3 and 4, near the Novye Cheryomushki station on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro line.
"The new building will be erected on the site of two five-story buildings built in 1960, each with 80 apartments. Now, residents of these buildings, as well as those participating in the renovation program, will have a real opportunity to improve their living conditions. The city will offer them the opportunity to move to equivalent apartments in the new complex, which is scheduled for completion in 2026. It will be located within walking distance of their old buildings, next to the same Novye Cheryomushki metro station. This means residents won't have to change their lifestyle; they will continue to enjoy the same infrastructure within walking distance," said the Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Urban Development Policy.
On behalf of Sergei Sobyanin's program for resettling residents from dilapidated housing is being scaled up and accelerated. It currently affects over 5,000 old buildings. Residential buildings that were not included in the 2017 renovation program can be resettled through the Housing Development Committee (HDC). The pilot projects are primarily being conducted on buildings whose residents have applied to the city to participate in the renovation program, as well as on buildings that are likely to soon become uninhabitable.
