TUNIS, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) — Chinese tech giant Huawei and Tunisia's Computing Center of Al-Khawarizmi (CCK) jointly held a seminar here on Monday to improve the quality of smart education and telemedicine in the country.
Tunisian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Monder Belaid stated at the event that the world is experiencing an unprecedented technological revolution, including the rapid development of artificial intelligence, big data, various advanced digital platforms, cybersecurity, and next-generation infrastructure. He added that Tunisia will leverage these new technologies for a better and more secure future.
Tunisia hopes to strengthen cooperation with partners in emerging technology areas to advance higher education and research, food security, energy transition, healthcare, digital public administration, and economic competitiveness, the minister emphasized.
CCK CEO Saussen Krishen said the collaboration with Huawei had a profound impact on Tunisia's technology landscape.
CCK provides internet services for higher education and research in Tunisia.
Feng Qiyu, President of Huawei Cloud Northern Africa, announced that Huawei and CCK jointly launched North Africa's first cloud service platform for education and scientific research, covering more than 450 educational and research institutions and serving 14 universities in Tunisia, offering comprehensive support for scientific collaboration, online learning, and resource sharing.
The platform has successfully implemented screening of medical images using artificial intelligence, which has significantly increased the effectiveness of telemedicine in Tunisia, he added. –0–
