Sydney, December 15 (Xinhua) — The death toll from the shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney on Sunday has risen to 16, New South Wales police said on Monday.
According to police, 16 people have been confirmed dead, 14 of whom died at the scene and two more in hospital.
As of Monday morning, 40 victims are in hospital, five of them in critical condition.
State Police Commissioner Mel Lanyon said at a press conference Monday morning that the two suspected shooters were a 50-year-old man and his 24-year-old son. The investigation into the motive for the attack is ongoing.
