Ashgabat, December 14 /Xinhua/ — At the invitation of the Turkmen side, Special Envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Peng Qinghua visited Ashgabat on December 12-13 to participate in a forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The special envoy presented a congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping to the Turkmen side, met with the Speaker of the Mejlis (parliament) of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, and the leaders of the main political parties, and also took part in dialogue events between the peoples of China and Turkmenistan.
Peng Qinghua actively promoted the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and Xi Jinping's congratulatory message. He stated that China stands ready to work with Turkmenistan to fully implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two countries, strengthen strategic alignment and practical cooperation in all areas, and jointly build a China-Turkmen community with a shared future.
The Turkmen side thanked Xi Jinping for his congratulatory letter to the forum and for sending a special envoy, noting that this fully demonstrates China's high regard for Turkmen-Chinese relations.
