BEIJING, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng said he hopes the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will further deepen its cooperation with China, continue to exert positive influence and support on the multilateral trading system, and inject new impetus into the economic development of both China and the world.
He Lifeng, who is also a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee), made the statement on Wednesday in Beijing during a meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
The Chinese economy, He Lifeng stated, has maintained robust growth momentum since the beginning of this year. The country is confident and capable of sustaining sustainable and healthy economic growth.
K. Georgieva noted that the IMF highly values China's contribution to the global economy and thanks it for its comprehensive support in establishing the IMF Shanghai Center, which officially opened on Monday.
The IMF is ready to continue strengthening cooperation with China, K. Georgieva indicated. -0-
