On December 13, a charity hockey match will be held at the Moscow Seasons ice rink as part of the large-scale Moscow festival Journey to Christmas and the project Winter in MoscowThe competition will be held at 6 Sukhonskaya Street, Building 1.
The match is being held to collect gifts and letters for soldiers undergoing rehabilitation in Moscow's military hospitals. The game will bring together Russian hockey stars and popular bloggers. The "Legends of Russian Hockey" team, featuring Andrei Zubarev, Vitaly Proshkin, Maxim Rybin, Alexei Emelin, and other renowned athletes, will face off against a team of bloggers (players from Hockey Brothers, NBSK, Slap Shot, IVHockey, and other sports media representatives).
Guests will be gathering at 14:00, and the match will start at 15:00.
This year's Journey to Christmas festival is impressive in scale: 35 festival venues, 26 ice rinks, hundreds of performances, master classes, culinary schools, quizzes, ice shows, and other winter events will be held for Muscovites and visitors. The festival traditionally combines culture, winter sports, creativity, and good city initiatives.
"Journey to Christmas" is not only entertainment and sports, but also a large-scale social mission: hundreds of events, charity campaigns, and targeted assistance programs throughout Moscow unite tens of thousands of citizens around the idea of mutual assistance, gratitude, and support for those who are especially in need of warmth and care.
The Journey to Christmas festival will take place at 35 venues across Moscow.
As per tradition, famous athletes and bloggers will bring gifts and souvenirs to the ice for the participants of the special military operation, and will also sign pucks, sticks, and hockey jerseys. Anyone can personally deliver gift sets, souvenirs, or cards to the soldiers. The organizers will send all collected gifts to the Moscow hospital.
On this day, guests will enjoy a packed program, including a vibrant shootout show, an autograph session, and group photos with the participants, as well as an honorary ceremony handing over postcards and souvenirs to the fighters undergoing treatment.
Entry to the event is free, no registration required.
The charity match will demonstrate how sport can become a platform for good deeds, community solidarity, and fostering a tradition of social responsibility. Last year, similar city initiatives helped collect over two thousand New Year's gifts and souvenirs, which were personally delivered to recipients. In 2025, the organizers hope for even greater community engagement.
Winter in Moscow— the main event of the season. The project aims to strengthen social and family ties, create an atmosphere of unity and mutual support, and provide assistance to those currently defending the Motherland. Through a variety of programs, including cultural, educational, and sporting events, it brings together Muscovites and visitors of all ages and interests, creating an environment for creative development, active recreation, and warm communication. Particular attention is paid to supporting participants and veterans of the special military operation and their families, as well as all those providing assistance to the front.
