The Moscow City Pedagogical University (MCPU) on Sadovaya-Samotechnaya Street has been decorated for the New Year. Live fir trees have been installed nearby, an installation based on the fairy tale and ballet "The Nutcracker" has been mounted, and a light show has begun on the facades. The site will be open until February 28, the press service reported. Department of Education and Science of the capital.
The main theme of the design is a journey into the world of classics. As evening falls, a light show, "Winter Poetry: December, January, February," begins on the university's façade. The building transforms into a large media screen, displaying graphic compositions dedicated to each of these months.
December is represented by Valery Bryusov's lines about the first snow. Decorations change on the façade, and virtual candies and gifts fall. January is accompanied by Afanasy Fet's lines about distant lights and icy walls. February greets viewers with Alexander Pushkin's lines: "Frost and sun; a wonderful day!" At this time, carved shutters on the façade open, revealing a raging snowstorm, followed by the image of a horse-drawn sleigh.
A three-meter-tall digital book has also been installed on the site. This winter, its pages feature Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann's fairy tale "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King." It was a gift to Muscovites from AST Publishing House in honor of its 35th anniversary. The animated illustrations were created by Nadezhda Bugoslavskaya, winner of the "Image of the Book" illustration competition.
The space was decorated with live fir trees, at the base of which lay boxes filled with gifts. Large Nutcracker figures complete the composition.
The winter decor replaced the autumn installation that opened on Sadovaya-Samotechnaya Street in September. At that time, the space combined literature and contemporary urban art. Art objects inspired by Russian classics were installed there, such as fiery red trees based on the poems of Alexander Pushkin.
