BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) — China will expand cooperation with the United States to address pressing global drug issues based on the principles of equality and mutual respect, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) said Friday.

The representative made the statement while commenting at the media's request on progress in drug control cooperation between the two countries.

He noted that the drug control agencies of the two countries are conscientiously implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries in Busan, and cooperation between the parties is yielding significant results.

The interagency drug enforcement teams on both sides maintain close contact, and a recent video conference allowed them to exchange updates and discuss priorities for future cooperation, the spokesman concluded. -0-
