Jerusalem, December 4 (Xinhua) — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Thursday announced it carried out a series of airstrikes in southern Lebanon, striking "several" Hezbollah weapons depots. About an hour earlier, the Israeli military issued an evacuation warning for residents of two nearby villages.

An IDF spokesman said in a statement that the IDF will continue to conduct operations to eliminate any threats to the Jewish state.

Video footage shows a house burning in the Lebanese village of El Mjadel after the strikes.

A ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah has been in effect since November 2024, but Israel continues to carry out near-daily strikes in southern Lebanon, claiming they are aimed at curbing Hezbollah activity. –0–
