CHENGDU, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) — French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Thursday evening as part of his three-day state visit to China.
This is Emmanuel Macron's fourth state visit to China. It follows Chinese President Xi Jinping's historic state visit to France last year, which was timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Chinese-French diplomatic relations.
As part of his visit, Emmanuel Macron also visited Beijing, where he held talks with Xi Jinping. In the Chinese capital, the two heads of state also jointly witnessed the signing of a package of cooperation documents, met with the press, and attended the closing ceremony of the 7th meeting of the Sino-French Business Council, where they delivered speeches.
