Beijing, December 4 (Xinhua) — China has seen a significant increase in the number of 5G base stations since the beginning of 2025, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

As of the end of October this year, the total number of 5G base stations in the country reached almost 4.76 million, which was 507,000 more than at the end of last year, accounting for 37 percent of all mobile base stations, according to the agency's data.

China's telecom industry revenue exceeded 1.46 trillion yuan (approximately US$207 billion) in the first 10 months, up 0.9 percent year-on-year.

As of the end of October this year, the number of 5G mobile subscribers nationwide exceeded 1.18 billion, with a net increase of 170 million compared to the figure recorded at the end of 2024, and accounting for 64.7 percent of the total number of mobile subscribers. -0-
