RUDN University is considered one of the most international universities in Russia due to its large number of international students from nearly 160 countries and 500 nationalities. It also ranks high in international rankings. It enrolls approximately 9,000 international students annually.
The themed train's carriages are decorated to tell the story of the university. Passengers will also learn about student life, its international programs, academic programs, and scientific achievements.
Since 2024, RUDN students and staff have been able to get there quickly and conveniently by metro: the "Peoples' Friendship University" station has opened on the first section of the Troitskaya Line. Today, it is the line's most popular station, with over 21,000 trips made there on weekdays.
This year, Moscow Transport is actively participating in RUDN's anniversary celebrations: at the beginning of the year, a themed photo exhibition was held at the Peoples' Friendship University station, dedicated to the university's vibrant life. A unique exhibition in flasks, "RUDN: Territory of Opportunities," was also presented at the Vorobyovy Gory station. A themed Troika card was also issued in honor of the university, bearing the inspiring slogan "A Travel Pass to the World of Knowledge."
As Maxim Liksutov noted, 27 themed trains have already been launched on the Moscow Metro since the beginning of this year. In line with Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin's mandate, the Moscow Metro is being developed not only as a transportation facility but also as a platform for collaboration with partners in education, science, and culture.
