Yerevan, December 4 (Xinhua) — Armenia and the European Union signed the "Armenia-EU Strategic Partnership Agenda," aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in various fields, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported on its official website on Wednesday.
The ministry noted that the document, adopted on Tuesday following the 6th meeting of the Armenia-EU Partnership Council, defines goals in the political, economic, and security spheres.
At a press conference following the signing of the document, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that this document complements the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU and elevates the partnership agenda to a strategic level.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas emphasized that the document expands bilateral cooperation into new areas, including reforms, the rule of law, economic modernization, security, and visa liberalization.
As reported on the agency's website, the key priorities of the strategic agenda are strengthening democratic development, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and socio-economic sustainability of Armenia. –0–
