Boao, Hainan Province, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) — Fu Hua, Director-General of China's Xinhua News Agency, held separate meetings Wednesday with media executives from several countries who arrived in China to attend the 57th meeting of the executive committee of the Organization of Asian and Pacific News Agencies (OANA).

Among the heads of foreign media were the general director of the Russian news agency TASS Andrei Kondrashov, the general director of the Malaysian national news agency Bernama Noor Ul Afidah Kamaludin and the general director of the Vietnam News Agency (VIA) Vu Viet Trang.

Warmly welcoming the guests, Fu Hua noted Xinhua's long-standing fruitful cooperation with the three news agencies, outlined his vision for further deepening cooperation, and put forward proposals for jointly covering cooperation and development, strengthening personnel and professional exchanges, expanding cooperation in new media technologies, and strengthening coordination within multilateral mechanisms.

The Xinhua Director-General also invited all parties to participate in the 7th World Media Summit, which will be held in Beijing next year.

A. Kondrashov noted that the strategic cooperation between TASS and Xinhua continues to deepen and advance, yielding tangible results in international broadcasting and information exchange. The TASS director stated that he sincerely looks forward to the 6th China-Russia Media Forum in Beijing and firmly believes it will be a complete success.

Nur Ul Afida Kamaludin noted Xinhua's extensive media experience and expressed hope for appropriate support in staff training and expanded collaboration in video reporting. She welcomed the dispatch of Xinhua journalists to Malaysia to cover the Visit Malaysia 2026 tourism campaign.

Vu Viet Trang noted that VNA and Xinhua are important partners, actively exchanging various types of news content. She expressed a desire to further deepen cooperation, particularly in the area of digital transformation, and stated VNA's willingness to send technical specialists to Xinhua to study best practices.

During the meeting, Fu Hua and Noor Ul Afidah Kamaludin exchanged copies of the memorandum of understanding signed by both sides on information dissemination. The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in areas such as news exchanges, mutual visits, mutual journalistic assistance, and joint broadcasting to promote the building of a China-Malaysia community with a shared future.
