Monolithic work has been completed on the educational and laboratory building being constructed on the inter-university campus of I.S. Turgenev Oryol State University. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced this.
"Creating a network of world-class university campuses is a significant contribution to both improving the quality of education and science, as well as to the integrated development of cities. This work is being carried out at the direction of the President. A student campus with modern infrastructure is being built at the I.S. Turgenev OSU. Concrete work has been completed on one of the facilities—the educational and laboratory building. Approximately 2,000 students will be able to study in the five-story building, which covers over 27,000 square meters. It will house educational and laboratory spaces, student study areas, a prototyping and reengineering center, and an auditorium with a foyer," said Marat Khusnullin.
Work is currently underway on the roof, exterior walls, and interior partitions in the academic and laboratory building, along with interior finishing. In the future, the building will house a modular library, a copy center, a cafeteria, utility rooms, technical facilities, and other spaces.
"The campus is being built as part of the register of capital construction projects, part of the comprehensive state program 'Construction,' overseen by the Russian Ministry of Construction. To promote youth sports, a new football field with artificial turf and 500-seat stands will be built on the campus. Concrete work is currently being completed on the site, covering over 1,500 square meters," said Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Yuri Gordeyev.
Construction of the inter-university campus, covering approximately 60,000 square meters, began in the summer of 2024. This modern campus will bring together students and faculty from six of the city's universities.
"A dormitory complex consisting of three buildings is currently under construction on the campus. Work is underway on the stained-glass windows, facades, and roofing. Interior finishing is also underway. In addition to residential rooms, the buildings will also feature modern gyms, independent study areas, and leisure facilities," noted Karen Oganesyan, CEO of the Unified Customer Production and Consulting Company.
The construction of the campus in Orel is being carried out on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian Government.
Five more campuses are being built by specialists from the Unified Customer Development Company in Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Smolensk, and Moscow.
