The Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve presents a concert commemorating the 80th birthday of Vladimir Martynov, one of the key contemporary composers and the originator of the concept of new simplicity. The evening will feature his composition "Chalkidiki" for marimba, vibraphone, percussion, and organ—a work inspired by the Greek peninsula and myths of land and sea.

In the musical score, the element of water and the feminine element are conveyed by the organ, while the power of the earth and the masculine character are conveyed by percussion instruments. The first performance of the piece was entrusted to multi-instrumentalist Petr Glavatskikh, who, together with Sofia Iglitskaya, will present the work at Tsaritsyn. The composer explores the fundamental principles of rhythm and sound, inviting listeners to complete immersion and attentive perception of musical details.
