VIENTIANE, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) — The Lao Foreign Ministry on Friday issued a statement reiterating its commitment to the one-China principle.

The department's statement noted that 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the World Anti-Fascist War, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, and 70 years since Laos joined the UN.

The Ministry emphasized that the UN's primary goal is to maintain the international order established after World War II. In this regard, Laos reaffirmed its unwavering position of firm support for UN General Assembly Resolution 2758, adherence to the one-China principle, recognition of Taiwan as an inalienable part of the territory of the People's Republic of China, and opposition to any interference in China's internal affairs.
