BEIJING, November 28 (Xinhua) — The Work Safety Commission of the State Council has decided to oversee the investigation into the collision of a train carrying out seismic testing equipment with workers on railway tracks in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, the Ministry of Emergency Management said on Friday.

A tragedy occurred early Thursday morning at Luoyangzhen Station in Kunming. Eleven people were killed and two others were injured.

The ministry stated the need to quickly identify the causes of the collision and take the strictest preventative measures to avoid a repeat of the tragedy.

A joint task force comprising representatives from the Occupational Safety Commission of the State Council, the State Railway Administration, and China Railways, a state-owned corporation, has been dispatched to the scene to oversee the recovery efforts and investigate the causes of the tragedy.
