Moscow, November 26 /Xinhua/ — The awards ceremony for the winners of the 2025 Ambassador's Grand Prix Chinese painting competition was held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Moscow on Tuesday.
Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui congratulated the contestants on their outstanding results. He noted that the Ambassador's Grand Prix Chinese painting competition is being held for the fourth time, and each year the number of participants grows, and their level of skill improves. "Today, this is a major event that attracts numerous connoisseurs of Chinese culture," the ambassador emphasized.
"By mastering Chinese painting techniques, our Russian friends are truly immersed in traditional Chinese philosophy and aesthetics. And through their art, they themselves become ambassadors of friendship, linking our cultures," Zhang Hanhui noted.
The competition was held in three categories: gunbi, landscape, and sei. This year, 202 original works were submitted by participants from across Russia. The submitted works are distinguished by a variety of subjects and a high level of craftsmanship.
The works were selected by a distinguished jury from the China National Academy of Painting. Following the competition, the best works were included in a month-long exhibition organized by the Chinese Cultural Center in Moscow and were also published in a special album.
The winning entries were highly praised by Galina Kulikova, First Deputy Chair of the Russian-Chinese Friendship Society. She stated that the inspiration, skill, and diligence of the participants stemmed from a profound interest in Chinese culture and Chinese painting, which are gaining more and more fans in Russia each year.
