City Services specialists have conducted nearly three million water quality tests since the beginning of the year, according to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Urban Development. Petr Biryukov.

"Moscow consumes nearly three million cubic meters of water daily, and there are approximately 13,000 kilometers of water mains in the capital. This complex system requires constant monitoring and, if necessary, prompt adjustments. This year, nearly three million different tests were conducted, which once again confirmed that the water supplied to Muscovites' taps complies with all standards," noted Pyotr Biryukov.

Currently, the condition of the capital's water is analyzed using a maximum number of physical, chemical, and biological indicators—200 in total. Its quality is monitored throughout its entire flow: at the water source, at water treatment plants, and in the distribution network.

The devices monitor changes in key water composition indicators 24/7. Data from the analyzers is fed into a unified information system, allowing specialists to quickly make decisions about adjusting treatment procedures. The ongoing testing confirms that the water supplied to Muscovites' taps complies with all relevant standards.

In addition to laboratory testing, over 500 automatic monitoring devices monitor water quality in real time. Their analysis results are transmitted to the capital's social and hygienic monitoring system.
