XI'AN, November 24 (Xinhua) — China is ready to work with Russia to create more favorable conditions and foster a supportive environment for cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the two countries, Li Hongzhong, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), announced on Monday.
Li Hongzhong, also Chairman of the Chinese branch of the China-Russia Committee of Friendship, Peace and Development, made the statement at the opening ceremony of the 6th China-Russia Small and Medium Enterprise Forum in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
According to Li Hongzhong, China will adhere to the policy of making economic development its central task, focusing its efforts on promoting high-quality development, and steadily expanding high-level opening-up. He added that China is ready to share development opportunities with all countries, including Russia.
The Vice Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee stated that China and Russia will, together with the Russian Federation, use the important consensus reached by the heads of state as a fundamental guideline, continuously improve cooperation mechanisms, create more favorable conditions, and foster a favorable environment for cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises of the two countries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Russian representatives noted that the two countries have enormous potential for developing cooperation in many areas and expressed their willingness to work with China to bring greater development benefits to the peoples of both countries.
During the event, Li Hongzhong also met with Nikolai Zhuravlev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, and Boris Titov, Chairman of the Russian section of the China-Russia Committee for Friendship, Peace, and Development.
