Kyiv, November 21 (Xinhua) — Representatives of Ukraine and the United States met on Friday to discuss ways to end the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Rustem Umerov announced this on Telegram, adding that the American delegation was led by US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll.
R. Umerov emphasized that the talks were a continuation of consultations that began the day before with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The parties discussed approaches to restoring a just peace, next steps, and realistic formats for further dialogue.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council noted that Ukraine carefully studies each proposal from its partners and clearly formulates its position.
On Thursday, V. Zelenskyy met with a US delegation, during which he was formally presented with a new peace plan designed to bolster diplomatic efforts. According to the Ukrainian president, Kyiv wants to continue working on this proposal together with the US, Europe, and other partners.
