Beijing, November 21 (Xinhua) — An exhibition of Russian-Chinese calligraphy and painting art opened recently at the Volga Estate Cultural and Tourist Complex in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province, northeast China.

As reported on the Sina Weibo platform, the exhibition, organized by the Volga Estate complex, brought together renowned artists and calligraphers from China and Russia, as well as numerous art lovers.

The exhibition features over 70 outstanding works, including traditional Chinese calligraphy, guohua (traditional Chinese painting), as well as Russian oil paintings and graphic works. The exhibition offers viewers a true feast of art, possessing both aesthetic value and profound meaning.

Volga Estate CEO Wei Minfang noted that over the years, Volga Estate has continuously promoted cultural ties between the two countries by hosting numerous cultural events, making the bridge of friendship between China and Russia even wider, stronger, and more durable.

Vice Chairman of the Heilongjiang Artists' Association Wu Xiquan shared profound thoughts on the mutual enrichment of Chinese and Russian cultures, calling for the use of art as a bridge to deepen and realize practical cultural cooperation between the two countries.

The exhibition will be held permanently at the Volga Estate. As part of the event, Russian artists will also undertake plein air paintings, where they will capture new and vibrant moments of intercultural dialogue with brush and paint. -0-
