JOHANNESBURG, November 21 (Xinhua) — Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in South Africa on Thursday to attend the 20th G20 summit.
The event, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, will be held on the African continent for the first time in history.
China supports South Africa's G20 presidency and is willing to work with various parties under the theme of "Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability" to achieve consensus at the summit to safeguard multilateralism, build an open world economy, and promote development cooperation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said ahead of the visit.
