On November 20, Russia and more than 120 other countries around the world celebrate World Children's Day.
In 1954, the UN General Assembly recommended that all countries establish the practice of celebrating this date as a day of world brotherhood and mutual understanding among children, dedicated to activities aimed at ensuring the well-being of children throughout the world.
The date is no coincidence – it was on this day that the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989, according to which a child is every human being under the age of 18.
The purpose of this holiday is to remind adults of the fragility of childhood, the value of every child, and the need to protect and help in various situations.
The State University of Management always cares for its students, including potential ones. SUM has a Pre-University, where 10th- and 11th-grade students gain in-depth knowledge in three fields in a comfortable and safe environment. Four mother-and-child rooms are open in different buildings on campus. The university participates in the Entrepreneurship Classes program in Moscow, hosts various Olympiads and competitions, and as part of the Business and Entrepreneurship Course, our staff and students organize shifts at the country's largest children's centers: Artek, Orlyonok, Smena, and Okean.
We congratulate everyone on this important holiday and encourage you to do something good every day for the benefit of children, teenagers, and young adults. After all, we all need care and protection, no matter our age, but especially in childhood.
