On November 19, the second day of the All-Russian Forum of Higher Education Teachers "Academic Community" was held at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The forum was organized by the State University of Management, the League of Higher Education Teachers, and the Ministry of Education and Science.
At the meeting, traditionally held on Higher Education Teachers' Day, the results of the annual All-Russian competition "Golden Names of Higher Education" were announced. More than 300 people participated in the event, including heads of leading universities, representatives of government agencies, and the academic community.
Antony Shvindt, Deputy Head of the Deputy Prime Minister's Secretariat, read a welcome address from Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. It noted that the forum, which brings together teachers from across the country, is addressing the most pressing issues and challenges, including the development of the teaching profession, the human resources potential of universities, and the introduction of innovations into the educational process.
"As Vladimir Putin noted, it's important to lay the groundwork so that undergraduate and graduate students are prepared to meet the challenges ahead. Thanks to you, the future of our country is being shaped," Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized.
Antoniy Shvindt also noted his experience in teaching and how it gives him a lot in his current work.
"It's important to impart knowledge, but the role of the educator is no less crucial, as students largely follow the teacher's example and look up to them: what they say, how they speak, and how they carry themselves. Your daily work is of enormous importance in achieving the national goals set by the President," concluded the Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Deputy Prime Minister.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Avetisov read a congratulatory message from Sergei Novikov, Head of the Presidential Administration's Department for Public Projects, on Higher Education Teachers' Day. In his message, Sergei Novikov thanked teachers for nurturing generations of talented specialists and young scientists and for inspiring them with their example to new achievements and discoveries.
Vladimir Stroev, Rector of the State University of Management, also delivered a welcoming speech:
"It's very important that the event is taking place in a sacred place for all educators—the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Previously, we met at regional venues in various cities, and the first day of the forum was held at the State University of Management, but this hall gives the event a special significance. Today, we traditionally present the awards of the All-Russian "Golden Names of Higher Education" competition, which are becoming increasingly significant for the entire teaching community every year. Today is our big, shared celebration."
The awards ceremony was held with the participation of Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and Elena Lyapuntsova, Chair of the Coordinating Council of the League of Higher Education Teachers.
The forum concluded with a walking and bus tour of Moscow, during which guests visited Zaryadye Park, Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill, and admired the legendary views of our country's capital.
