BEIJING, November 19 (Xinhua) — The 5th China-Pacific Island Countries Political Party Dialogue was held in Beijing on Wednesday. The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation.

The dialogue was attended by Liu Haixing, Director of the International Relations Department of the CPC Central Committee, as well as leaders of political parties of the Pacific island states and their diplomatic representatives in China.

Liu Haixing stated that China highly values the Pacific island countries' commitment to the one-China principle. He stated that the CPC stands ready to work with the political parties and politicians of these countries to implement the important agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries, to serve as a guiding force in consensus-building, a model for mutual learning, and a driving force in practical cooperation, and to jointly build a closer community with a shared future for China and the Pacific island countries.

The leaders of political parties of the Pacific island countries, for their part, expressed their willingness to strengthen dialogue and exchanges with the CPC, deepen cooperation in various fields, jointly implement the four major global initiatives put forward by China, and promote peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region.
