Moscow, November 18 (Xinhua) — Member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Tuesday said UN reform is necessary to ensure the representation of developing countries in the organization's governing bodies and to adapt the UN to modern political and economic realities.
In a joint communiqué issued following the 24th meeting of the SCO Heads of Government Council, the heads of delegations expressed confidence that cooperation within the SCO will lay the foundation for the formation of an architecture of equal and indivisible security on the Eurasian continent.
They spoke out against resolving acute international and regional problems based on bloc and confrontational thinking.
The SCO countries once again emphasized the important practical significance of developing a new type of international relations characterized by mutual respect, honesty, fairness, and mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as building a community with a shared destiny for humanity.
