Moscow, November 18 /Xinhua/ — China is ready to further expand trade with Mongolia and explore opportunities for cooperation in emerging sectors such as green energy and the digital economy. Chinese State Council Premier Li Qiang announced this during a meeting with Mongolian Prime Minister Gombojavin Zandanshatar in Moscow on Tuesday.

Li Qiang described China and Mongolia as close neighbors connected by shared mountains and rivers, and stated that maintaining long-term, stable and friendly cooperative relations is in the fundamental interests of the peoples of the two countries.

As the Premier of the State Council noted, at the meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, held in September in Beijing, a vector for the further development of bilateral relations was outlined.

Li Qiang pointed out that China consistently views Mongolia as an important area in its diplomacy with neighboring countries and hopes to work with the Mongolian side to use the construction of a Chinese-Mongolian community of shared destiny as a guideline in developing bilateral relations.

According to him, China is willing to further strengthen strategic communication with Mongolia, respect and take into account each other's core interests and key concerns, expand practical cooperation, and promote the continuous development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Noting that China and Mongolia have strong economic complementarities, Li Qiang stated that China is willing to strengthen the alignment of the two countries' development strategies and expand cooperation in traditional areas such as mineral and energy resources, infrastructure and connectivity, and explore opportunities for cooperation in emerging sectors such as green energy and the digital economy, in order to create more areas of common interest and growth opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

China supports closer exchanges between the border regions of China and Mongolia, identifying potential for cooperation, and jointly promoting international cooperation in the subregion around the Altai Mountains, the Premier of the State Council stated.

He called on the two sides to strengthen exchanges between political parties, academic circles, the media, and youth, continuously deepen mutual understanding, and enhance mutual trust and friendship. Li Qiang added that China is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with Mongolia on regional affairs to jointly safeguard peace and stability in both countries and the region.
