Moscow, November 18 (Xinhua) – China's resolve and position on developing mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia have always been consistent, Chinese State Council Premier Li Qiang stated on Tuesday.
Li Qiang made the corresponding statement during a meeting in the Kremlin with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
At the beginning of the conversation, Li Qiang conveyed to Vladimir Putin warm greetings and best wishes from Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Premier noted that, under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, the China-Russia comprehensive partnership of strategic coordination in the new era continues to function at a high level.
Li Qiang noted that since the beginning of this year, Chairman Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin have met twice and outlined the direction for the further development of Chinese-Russian relations.
According to the head of the Chinese government, amid the chaotic changes in the international situation, China is ready to work with Russia to uphold the original aspiration for friendship passed down from generation to generation, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, deepen cooperation in various fields, and achieve new practical results in order to better serve the development and rise of both countries.
Li Qiang emphasized that China intends to further enhance the sustainability of cooperation with Russia and consolidate and maintain the stable momentum of bilateral cooperation.
He called on both sides to jointly organize new China-Russia theme years at the national level, effectively utilize mutually beneficial policies for the benefit of the people such as the visa-free regime, promote better mutual understanding and closer ties between the peoples of the two countries, and strengthen the foundation of people-to-people friendship in bilateral relations.
Li Qiang added that China hopes to join forces with Russia to implement the outcomes of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, promote the "Shanghai Spirit," deepen unity and cooperation, create a model for the practical implementation of the Global Governance Initiative, promote high-quality development of the SCO, and make greater contributions to peace and development in the region and around the world.
